Our Spiritual Director/Senior Minister
Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson
Namaste and Greetings!
As the Senior Minister for The Center for Spiritual Living Greater Baltimore (CSLGB), I extend a heartfelt welcome to you!
Whether you are someone who shows up in person on Sundays and is involved in various community activities or you are someone who lives in some other part of the United States or the world, know that your presence and engagement with us is appreciated!
Since being installed as the Senior Minister of CSLGB, we as a community have been and continue to actively engage our Spiritual Practices to live, move, and have our being-ness in such a way that we are fulfilling our Vision, Mission, and Purpose.
In July 2019, the second year as a CSLGB began, and beginning our second year was a huge thing for many reasons.
There were many who said that 4 centers could not join together and become one unified center, and we did!
Many said that the issues around diversity and inclusion would be too huge to tackle, and we have begun too!
And what this has demonstrated is one of the basic truths we know is that Principle is not bound by precedent!
Our second year is yielding great promise as we anchor to our newly adopted Vision, Mission, Purpose, and Values.
VISION: We are demonstrating a world that works for all – One Life-affirming Thought, Word, Feeling, Deed, and One Human interaction at a time.
MISSION: Provide the community with the tools, techniques, and talents that the Science of Mind® and Religious Science offer, that they awaken to the Divine Truth of their being for the purpose of living life to the fullest.
PURPOSE: This Spiritual Community is a place of celebration, sanctuary, and life-affirming expression dedicated to seeing and revealing the Truth of our Divinity, Living that Truth out loud, consciously, actively and powerfully.
VALUES: (C.S.L.G.B.) Community, Science of Mind & Spirit, Love, Gratitude, Becoming
We are committing ourselves in greater and more expansive ways to the CSLGB community and the wider Greater Baltimore community as well as evidenced in our recent partnership with the Baltimore Station, Baltimore Public Schools, and Faith Communities of Baltimore with PRIDE.
As the Senior Minister, I am working with the members and leaders within our community to not only ground ourselves in the teachings of Science of Mind and Spirit but to live from those teaching and to bring those teachings to the Greater Baltimore area as well!
To achieve this, we are collectively working to schedule more activities for the community to participate in, such as summer cookouts, movie nights, bowling, book groups, and more, and are always open to more volunteers assisting us in how we serve the community.
While working on the local level, I am also working within the larger CSL organization. I have been teaching American Sign Language through the Professional Development department of CSL since 2021.
I have also served on the Spiritually Motivated Social Engagement Committee. The SMSE committee supports the Centers for Spiritual Living Spiritual Leader, Dr. Edward Viljoen, in formulating and expressing official CSL statements addressing various world events, concerns, and positions we as a movement hold regarding the intersection of our spiritual path and what we observe and experience in the world. The SMSE is also in the process of creating webinars and training opportunities on how we as a community can approach social and global issues while remaining grounded in our teachings and values.
I began my time on the SMSE committee in the Spring of 2021 and in June 2022 was appointed as the SMSE Chair, while it was a highly rewarding service, I stepped off the committee at the end of July.
I have been one of the members of the Cultural Integrity & Evolution Committee where I worked alongside several amazing individuals (Spiritual Mavericks), as we synergized with each committee and council represented within CSL to generate the themes to be used globally for 2020, 2021, and 2022.
I also served briefly on the Diversity and Inclusion Commission.
Thus far there are seven "Guide for Spiritual Living" Science of Mind Magazines in which I have either been interviewed, submitted a Prayer for the month, cowrote an article, and provided the daily guides for the whole month. You can find more information about those on our Media page.
I have also been working with several people within the larger New Thought community, on such things as creating resources for members of the LGBTQIA2+ community such as an annual retreat. With People of Color, and how to address and shift the collective consciousness around such things as Racism and the paradigm of white supremacy. There is currently a Facebook group that allows people to begin getting to know one another, sharing ideas, prayers for the planet, etc.
Ultimately the goal is to establish synergistic collaborations within our organization (Centers for Spiritual Living), within New Thought, and within various other Faith traditions, community organizations, and beyond so that everyone is seen, recognized, listened to, heard, valued, and given space to be themselves… so that everyone, however, the Divine expresses ItSelf as you: African American, LatinX, Caucasian, Asian Pacific Islander, Deaf, hearing, Straight or LGBTQ2IA+, Differently Abled, Democrat, Republican, Independent, etc., understand their own Divinity.
If you are looking for a Spiritual Community to visit and join, I personally invite you to visit us. You will find CSLGB to be a welcoming, inviting, open, affirming, supportive, place where the community understands and practices Spiritual Principles of Oneness, Love, Compassion, and Truth… You will find a Spiritual Home in this Beloved Community.
We are an ever-evolving Center and community (Open at the Top AND Open at the Bottom) with room to learn and grow and I know that the right people, the right skills, the right volunteers, and the right resources are all already manifesting and demonstrating!
I look forward to how your piece adds to the magnificent puzzle we are creating together…
A World that Works for the Highest and Best for All!
“Some people see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not.”
~ Robert Kennedy
“Nothing is impossible to a willing mind.”
~ Chinese Proverb
It is time to build a greater, grander, more magnificent Global Community . . . based in love and cooperation.
Are you ready?
I AM
Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Raymont Anderson,
Spiritual Director / Senior Minister
